Şefkat İşlegen was born in Izmir (Türkiye) and graduated from the Graphics Department at the Dokuz Eylül University – Fine Arts Institute. She had an additional year of training at Eskisehir Anadolu University.
Şefkat is a member of International Plastic Artists and United Painters Association. She prefers to use metal and linol in her printing work.
She had 35 individual exhibitions and her works are in several domestic and international private collections. Until today, she participated in 26 exhibitions in several foreign countries and 25 international art symposia. Her paintings have been exhibited in museums, galleries, art festivals and private art exhibits in numerous countries all around the world.
She has two daughter and two granddaughters, and she spends her time between the Aegean coast and the San Francisco Bay Area.
